Window Seat

Airline, premium · Adult (30-45) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

There's a moment, just after takeoff, when the city below turns into a map. The noise settles. Someone hands you a warm towel and a real coffee, in a real cup. On Meridel Airways, every seat has a little more room, every meal is made to be eaten, and every member of the crew remembers that you are a person, not a seat number. Meridel Airways. The long way, made lovely.

Check Twice

Airline, budget · Young adult (18-25) · Neutral American · 15 seconds

Weekend away? You thought you couldn't afford it. Then you saw a Pennywing fare and read it twice. Yes, really. Forty-one cities, one tiny price. Pennywing Air. Go on. Go somewhere.

Cleared for Home

Airline · Mature (55+) · Neutral British · 60 seconds

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain. We've reached our cruising altitude, the seatbelt sign is off, and the tea trolley is on its way, which I'm told is the only announcement anyone actually listens to. I've flown with Tessaline Airways for thirty-one years. Lisbon at sunrise. Nairobi in the rain. Reykjavik at a time of night I won't mention. The planes have changed. The uniforms have changed, thank goodness. What hasn't changed is the people. The crew who know your name by the second hour. The engineers who check every bolt twice, because they'd put their own children on this aircraft. And often do. But the best part of the job? It's tonight. It's the moment the wheels touch down and I hear the whole cabin breathe out. Somebody, somewhere back there, is going home. Tessaline Airways. We'll get you there.

Sea Days

Cruise · Adult (40-55) · Neutral American · 60 seconds

On the third morning, something happens. You wake up and you don't reach for your phone. You reach for the curtain. Out there is the Aegean, blue enough to hurt your eyes. Breakfast arrives on your balcony. Your only plan today is the pool, a book you've been meaning to finish, and maybe the spa at four. This is a sea day on Ardenmere Cruises. Tomorrow, there's Santorini. The day after, Rhodes, then the quiet little harbors the big ships sail right past. But today? Nobody needs you. No meetings. No laundry. No one asking what's for dinner, because tonight the chef has already decided, and it's wonderful. Our ships carry fewer guests, so you'll never queue for a sun lounger, and the crew will know how you take your coffee by Tuesday. Ardenmere Cruises. The sea is waiting. So is your book.

River at Dawn

Cruise, river · Mature (55+) · Neutral British · 30 seconds

Morning mist on the Danube. A village church bell somewhere across the water. Coffee on deck, and the whole of Austria drifting past your cabin window. With Tidewind River Voyages, you wake in a new town most days, from Vienna to Budapest and beyond, without ever unpacking your case. Small ships. Local guides. Evenings that end with a glass of something and a view. Tidewind River Voyages. Let the river do the travelling.

The Water Slide Negotiation

Checkout Is Noon

Hotel & resort · Adult (25-40) · Neutral American · 15 seconds

The pillows are ridiculous. The robe is ridiculous. Breakfast in bed? Ridiculous. And checkout is at noon. Which is, honestly, rude of them. Hotel Veralune. You'll want to stay a little longer.

The Night Porter

Hotel & resort, boutique · Mature (55+) · Neutral British · 60 seconds

I've been the night porter at The Marrowby Hotel for twenty-two years. I've seen a great deal. I've repeated none of it. I've found a lost wedding ring in a flowerpot at three in the morning. I've located a toothbrush, a phone charger and, on one occasion, a bagpipe. I've given directions to every theatre in the West End, and my opinion on most of the shows. Only when asked. The rooms here are small and beautiful, like the best things in London. The beds are enormous. The bar downstairs pours a very serious gin, and the breakfast is worth setting an alarm for, which is the highest praise I know. But I'll tell you what guests remember. It's coming back late, cold and tired, and finding someone at the door who is actually pleased to see you. That'll be me. I'll have the kettle on. The Marrowby Hotel. Mayfair, London.

Do Not Disturb

Hotel & resort, beach · Adult (30-45) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

Shh. Hang the sign on the door. Out there, the Pacific is doing its slow, blue thing. There's a hammock with your name on it, a margarita on its way, and a spa appointment you might just sleep through. At Casa Albarena Resort, on the quiet coast of Oaxaca, nobody will knock. Nobody will call. Nobody will ask you to do a single thing. Casa Albarena. Please, do not disturb.

Scream Test

Theme park · Young adult (18-25) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

Two hundred and eight feet. That's how high the new Rattlesnake coaster climbs. You'll hear the clack, clack, clack of the chain. You'll see the whole park spread out below. You'll grab the hand of whoever is next to you, even if you don't know them. And then... you drop. Rattlesnake is now open at Wildcatter Springs Adventure Park, along with forty more rides and a water park to cool you down after. Wildcatter Springs. Scream responsibly.

Small Enough

Theme park, family · Adult (30-45) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

Some rides are too big. Some lines are too long. And some parks forget that the littlest guests have the biggest feelings. At Glimmerfield, the rides are made for small hands and short legs. The characters get down to eye level. And there's a nap garden, for whoever needs it most. Your little one will remember the teacup ride for a week. You'll remember it longer. Glimmerfield. Just the right size.

Splash Zone

Theme park, water park · Young adult (18-25) · Neutral American · 15 seconds

It's ninety-six degrees. Your options are: sit in the hot car with the air on, or come on down to Bramble Bay Waterpark. Slide. Splash. Repeat. Bramble Bay. Summer's wettest idea.

Red Mesa

Destination, road trip · Mature (55+) · Neutral American · 60 seconds

Take the two-lane road out past the last gas station. Roll the window down. For a while, there's nothing. Sagebrush. Sky. A hawk hanging on the wind. Then everything. The canyon opens up in front of you, red and gold and a mile deep, and the whole world goes quiet. This is Red Mesa County. We've got petroglyphs older than any history book. Hot springs you can soak in under more stars than you knew existed. Trails for an easy morning, or a hard day, your choice. And there's a diner in Coppervale that serves a green chile cheeseburger people drive three hundred miles for. We can confirm, they're right. Stay in a cabin. Stay in a tent. Stay a little longer than you planned. Everyone does. Red Mesa County. Some places you see. This one, you feel. Plan your trip at Visit Red Mesa dot com.

Cabin Weekend

Destination, lake town · Adult (40-55) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

When I was a kid, summer meant one place. Lake Tamsin. Dock jumping. Fudge from the shop on Main Street. Loons calling across the water after dark. I still go every year. The fudge shop is still there. So are the loons. Now it's your turn. Rent a lakeside cabin, paddle out at sunrise, and let your kids find out what a real summer feels like. Lake Tamsin, Minnesota. Some traditions are worth starting.

The Fare Watcher

Travel app · Young adult (18-25) · Neutral American · 15 seconds

Stop refreshing flight prices at two in the morning. Farecrow watches every fare, every airline, every day, and pings you the second your price drops. You sleep. It watches. Farecrow. Your fare's early bird.

Wrong Turn

PRIYAWe've passed that cow three times.
DEVThat's a different cow.
PRIYAIt has the same spot, Dev. It's looking at us.
DEVOkay. Fine. Maybe the paper map was a bad idea.
PRIYAIt's a map of Ohio. From nineteen ninety-four. We're in Vermont.
DEVI'm aware.

DEVWhat are you doing?
PRIYADriftmap. It works offline, it finds scenic routes, it tells you where the nearest good coffee is, and it has a button that says, and I quote, 'Nearest bathroom that isn't gross.'

DEVOkay. Fine. What's it say?

First Class, Overnight

Luxury escape, rail · Mature (55+) · Neutral British · 60 seconds

The first time I took the overnight train through the Alps, I was twenty-three and I'd saved for a year. I remember the linen. The polished brass. A waiter in white gloves who poured my coffee as if it mattered to him how it tasted. I remember a dining car full of strangers who were not strangers by the time the cheese course came. Most of all, I remember waking before dawn, lifting the blind, and seeing the mountains turn pink, one peak at a time. Aurum Rail still runs that route, from Zurich to Venice, in carriages restored by hand to the way they were, with a few modern kindnesses. A proper shower. A very good wine list. They say it's the journey, not the destination. I've always thought that was a bit of a cliché. And then, of course, I took this train. I still do. Every spring. Aurum Rail. Arrive changed.

Barefoot

Luxury escape, island · Adult (30-45) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

Nine villas. One island. White sand that stays cool under your feet, even at noon. A private chef who asks what you'd like, then makes something better. A reef right off your own deck. A night sky with no one else in it. The rest of the world is a two-hour seaplane ride away. It can stay there. Shoes? Optional. Solenne Private Islands. The Maldives, kept quiet.

Clean Sheets, Fair Price

Budget getaway, motel · Adult (40-55) · Southern US · 30 seconds

Now, I'm gonna be honest with you. We don't have a lobby fountain. We don't have a rooftop bar. There's no guy in a vest who opens the door. What Nightstop Motor Inns does have is clean sheets, hot showers, strong coffee in the morning, and a parking spot right outside your door, big enough for the trailer. Just off the interstate, all across the South. Nightstop Motor Inns. Sleep well. Drive on.

Edinburgh to Glasgow

Budget getaway, coach · Young adult (18-25) · Scottish · 15 seconds

Wi-fi, big comfy seats, and a plug for your phone. Edinburgh to Glasgow, every twenty minutes, all day. And it costs less than your lunch. Thistlebus. Get on. Get there.

Under Canvas

Budget getaway, glamping · Young adult (18-25) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

Camping. But with a real bed. And a wood stove. And a hot shower you don't have to walk to in the dark. Fernlight Glamping has canvas tents hidden in the forests of the Oregon coast, each one with a deck, a fire pit, and a sky full of stars. Hear the ocean. Smell the pine. Sleep like a log, on a mattress. Fernlight Glamping. The outdoors, minus the backache.

The Upgrade

Travel, car rental · Adult (25-40) · Neutral American · 30 seconds

You booked a midsize. At the counter, they offer you a subcompact. With a cassette player. And a smell. Not at Roadmellow Car Rental. The car you book is the car you get, clean, full of fuel and waiting at the curb. No lines, no mystery fees, no speech about insurance you've already said no to twice. Airports nationwide. Roadmellow. The easy part of the trip.

Bunk and Barrow Hostels, in Sydney, Melbourne and Byron Bay. Private rooms if you're fancy. Dorms if you're not. Surf lessons, pub quiz, laundry on Tuesdays. Towels? Mate. It's a hostel. Bring your own. Bunk and Barrow. Stay cheap. Stay late.

Rain Is Part of It

Destination, tour · Adult (40-55) · Irish · 30 seconds

Now, you'll want a good jacket. I'll say that up front. With Gullquill Tours, you'll see the cliffs of the west coast, the stone walls of the Aran Islands, and a pub in Connemara where the music starts whenever somebody feels like it. Small groups. Local guides. Stories you'll not find in any book. And yes, it might rain. But the rain is part of it. You'll see. Gullquill Tours. Ireland, the way we'd show a friend.

The Lounge

Airline, airport lounge · Adult (30-45) · Neutral American · 15 seconds

Gate changes. Crowds. The last seat is next to a man eating tuna. Or: a quiet chair, a real meal and a hot shower. Mezzanine Lounges. The airport, turned down.

Lazy Spur

Destination, ranch · Mature (55+) · Southern US · 60 seconds

Howdy. I'm June. My husband and I have run the Lazy Spur Ranch, out in the Texas Hill Country, for going on thirty years. Folks come to us from all over. Doctors, schoolteachers, a fella from Tokyo who'd never seen a horse up close. By the end of the week, he was helping me move cattle. Better than some of my hands, too. Here's how the day goes. Coffee on the porch. A trail ride down to the river. Afternoon, you swim, you fish, you nap in a hammock. Nobody's gonna judge. Evenings, we eat brisket under the pecan trees and somebody usually brings out a guitar. But the part I love best is the last night, when the kids are asleep in the bunkhouse and the grown-ups are just sitting there under the stars, not saying much. That's the real vacation. Lazy Spur Ranch. Come on out. We'll saddle up a horse for you.

Hot Water, Cold Air

Luxury escape, spa resort · Adult (40-55) · Neutral British · 60 seconds

Step out of the car and the first thing you notice is the quiet. Then the air. Clean and cold, with a little pine in it. This is Thermae Valbrun, high in the Swiss Alps, where warm spring water has been rising out of the mountain for longer than anyone can say. Slip into the outdoor pool as the snow comes down. The water is thirty-six degrees. The air is not. Your breath clouds in front of you. Somewhere below, a cowbell. Afterwards, a sauna built of old larch wood. A massage by someone who seems to know exactly where you keep your worries. A long dinner, slowly, with a view of the valley turning blue. Will you sleep well tonight? It isn't a question. Thermae Valbrun. Rooms, suites and day passes, open year-round. Come for the water. Leave lighter.

Red Dirt

Destination, tour · Adult (30-45) · Australian · 30 seconds

Red dirt, as far as you can see. A sky so big it feels like it goes all the way round. Big Sky Outback Tours takes you deep into Australia's red centre. Gorges, rock art, sunsets that set the whole desert on fire, and a swag under the Milky Way. Snakes? Don't worry. Your guide has done this a thousand times. Big Sky Outback Tours. Out here, it's bigger.
